Selected Exhibition – Curator’s Corner – Spring 2025

Pound Arts, Corsham, Wiltshire

Poster for Pound Arts Exhibition

This winter, in the depths of the dark grey skies, I have been working on some new landscape sculptures for the Curator’s Corner exhibition at Pound Arts, Wiltshire’s flagship arts centre in Corsham, near Bath.

Expanding the landscape work made previously in both forged and fabricated styles, I opted for smaller scale pieces with set parameters for making techniques.

The new sculptures have deceptively difficult forged simple lines and square corners. As modular works they form a whole collection of spaces, forms, hollows and shapes discoved on my journeys through landscapes in the UK and abroad.

Sketching on steel sheets in chalk starts the process. I measure each line and consider the changes of section along the line as it comes off the anvil. Knowing the finished length to create the right angle corners is crucial to creating a balnced piece.

Each of the three new works fit together but also work as stand alone sculptures that would fit in any home situation.

I will be sharing the exhibition space with seven painters from ‘The Outsiders’ local Corsham group of plein air painters.

If you are attending a performance or class at this great venue, please take some time to look around the exbibition which is on from 27th March to 26th April 2025 Monday – Saturday 9.30 – 9.30

If you would like to see these sculptures at my gallery or meet me at Pound Arts during the exhibition, please contact me.

Keep an eye out for other exhibitions coming up showing my sculpture work this year.
